REINDESA has reached an agreement with the METROPOLITAN gym chain for the construction of the swimming pool at the Metropolitan Las Arenas Gym . This gym will be located on the fourth floor of the LAS ARENAS shopping center in the former Las Arenas bullring in Barcelona. The works have already begun and soon members will be able to enjoy this spectacular pool with a multitude of effects (hydromassage beds, waterfalls, cervical jets, etc.) and above all enjoy incredible views of Plaza España, the Venetian towers and the Paseo de María Cristina.
POOL AT THE MARINA BAY SANDS HOTEL IN SINGAPORE
Continuing with the series of impossible swimming pools, in this post we show you the incredible pool built at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore. It consists of three 55-story buildings joined at the top by a ship-shaped structure where the 155m long swimming pool is located! The pool overflows on one side, giving an impressive sensation of falling into the void.
THE DEEPEST SPORTS POOL IN THE WORLD
Who said it’s not worth scuba diving in a pool? We divers, no matter how inexperienced, know all too well that the initial dives of an open water diver course in pools are nothing like the reality of open water dives. Leaving aside the added difficulties of currents and navigation in the ocean or open sea, we can all agree that there’s nothing like venturing into the sea and forgetting about land for a while as you enjoy the wonderful underwater scenery. But now, aspiring divers have the opportunity to experience a truly exotic and even fantastic dive. In Brussels, they’ve built the world’s deepest swimming pool for sports and recreation. It’s called NEMO33, after its maximum depth (33 meters) and in homage to Captain Nemo , the protagonist of Jules Verne’s visionary book ” 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea .” The pool was conceived and designed by John Beernaerts, a civil engineer and diving instructor, in collaboration with architect Sebastian Moreno-Vacca . It comprises several dive areas at varying depths to meet the diverse needs of divers, depending on their skill level. From the beginner area, at a depth of 4 meters, to the pit for expert divers at a depth of 33 meters (34.6 meters according to some digital depth gauges), you’ll find passageways, caves, tunnels, and air chambers; all illuminated either with natural light or with overhead spotlights that mimic sunlight and illuminate the tank even at its maximum depth. Immersed in this science fiction-like environment, the experience can be truly thrilling. Furthermore, those who are sensitive to the cold should know that the 2,500 cubic meters of water filling the tank are kept at a temperature of 30-33°C thanks to solar panels that heat it. SPECTACULAR POOL
As we mentioned in a previous post, at REINDESA we build many swimming pools throughout the year. Some are notable for their complexity, others for their size, and some remain in our memory simply because of the spectacular final result. This particular pool is located in the exclusive “La Gavina” residential development in S’Agaró, Girona. It measures 14.00 m by 4.00 m, features an internal built-in staircase, and includes an attached children’s play area separated by crowned pillars, each with a fountain in the center. The pool is infinity-shaped all around. Reindesa proposed to the owners the construction of a water collection channel, designed by Reindesa , which is completely concealed and has a spectacular aesthetic result, as the water level is barely 3 cm below the terrace and disappears through a small 1 cm opening. This provides us with a completely smooth terrace, free of gutters and grates. This pool is seamlessly integrated into the garden and building thanks to the chosen tones and colors: the light green-turquoise interior mosaic tiles from Reviglass harmonize perfectly with the travertine stone coping. All components within the pool are made of 316 stainless steel . The result is a spectacular and harmonious pool, well thought out, well designed and perfectly executed by Reindesa , which we are proud of and which we will add to our catalog of pools to show.

SWIMMING POOL IN EMPURIABRAVA – ARCHITECT ENRIC RUIZ-GELI
As we have mentioned before, at Reindesa we build all types of swimming pools: private, public, large and small, but from time to time truly incredible projects appear in which participating is quite a challenge. One of these cases is the swimming pool built in Empuriabrava under the orders of the brilliant architect Enric Ruiz-Geli . This house with an absolutely amazing structure has inside a spectacular pool and spa that serve as a central courtyard. It is a concrete structure made with a curved wooden formwork in situ, which cantilevers over most of its surface. The pool has completely curved shapes with a bench and hydromassage at one end. It was one of the projects in which Reindesa had to innovate in terms of materials and concepts, a complex and difficult project of which we at Reindesa are very proud.

This March, the specialized magazine ACTUALIDAD PISCINAS published an article about a pool made by Reindesa as the STAR POOL OF THE MONTH . This refers to the swimming pool built at the “Col·legi les Hortensies” which we already discussed and explained in detail in a post a few months ago. It is a source of pride for the professionals at Reindesa to see our work published in specialized journals and reference books. Each publication is further proof that reaffirms our company identity. REINDESA ATTENDS THE GENERAL MEETING OF THE BATHING AREA GROUP
Reindesa was present at the annual general assembly of the Zona de Baño group, which this year was held in Puerto de la Cruz on the island of Tenerife. It’s been an intense four days of networking and working. At these kinds of events, you have breakfast, lunch, and dinner with professionals from your own field, which, besides being very tiring, is incredibly enriching. We’ve debated, learned, laughed, talked, and above all, shared. Now is the time to put everything we’ve learned into practice and turn all that desire to improve and good vibes into successes for our companies. The next meeting will be the biennial trade fair for professionals in Amposta in October, organized by Zona de Baño and which is sure to be a success.
COMMUNITY POOL REHABILITATION IN CALONGE
This summer Reindesa has carried out the renovation of the communal swimming pool of the well-known Eden Mar apartments in Torre Valentina, Calonge. The pool is located on the terrace of a 5th floor, with apartments directly below. We started with a swimming pool that was about 40 years old and had a lead-based waterproofing system. It couldn’t be re-gunned because the building’s structure couldn’t support such extra weight. All these challenges made this project a major professional undertaking. A thorough renovation has been carried out: -The pool had a water collection channel on one side that had significant leaks and has been replaced by skimmers. -The coping stone was very deteriorated and has been completely replaced with new stone specially made for this pool. -The interior mosaic tiles have been changed to a navy blue color that gives a spectacular effect to the water in contrast with the sky and the incredible views of Calonge and Palamós in the background. – Spotlights have been added to illuminate the pool since the existing ones had been out of use for years. -The vents of the interior courtyards located within the pool have been rehabilitated, turning them into islands where you can sit using custom-made coping stones. -An access staircase for people with reduced mobility has been added, which will surely facilitate the entry and exit of older bathers.
POOL WINTERIZATION
Currently, water is one of the most precious resources and its price has increased exponentially in recent years due to scarcity in some regions of Spain and even the world. At Reindesa, we understand the importance of caring for this precious resource, which is why we place special emphasis on the importance of winterizing your pool. This way, you won’t have to drain your pool, and at the same time, you’ll protect it. When it remains full, the water acts as thermal insulation, protecting the pool liner from sudden temperature changes during the winter. It will even be protected if your pool is located in an area with a high water table, preventing cracks or fissures in the pool shell. You can start winterizing your pool if the water temperature is below 14° or 15°C; you just need to follow a few simple steps: 1. Clean the entire pool using your pool cleaner so that the entire surface of the pool is free of debris. 2. Perform a pH analysis , which should be between 7.2 and 7.6. 3. The water must be completely disinfected before adding IVER-REIN ; you can apply granulated or powdered CLORO-REIN . 4. After approximately 24 hours, you can add IVER-REIN , leaving the filter running for about 8 hours to allow the product to be distributed throughout your pool. 5. You will need to measure the pH again and adjust it if necessary. 6. It is advisable to clean the filter so that there is nothing that could spoil the water during hibernation. 7. If your pool has skimmers and is in a very cold climate, the water level should be below the skimmer and you should place some floating element to prevent the formation of a light layer of ice. 8. It is recommended that you apply IVER-REIN mid-season for best results, repeating the steps above. 9. Using a cover helps to ensure optimal pool conditions so that you can continue to enjoy it again at the end of the season. SWIMMING POOLS AT MANHATAN SUITES HOTEL – CUNIT
After participating in the construction of the swimming pools at the Barcelo Raval Hotels, Hotel Barcelona B , Hotel Soho and Hotel Juan Carlos I among others, this season we have completed the two swimming pools at the Manhatan Suites Hotel in Cunit. Two swimming pools have been built, one on an upper terrace, with aquatic effects consisting of a massage waterfall , a cervical cannon and a counter-current swimming system, all in 316 stainless steel. It is equipped with colored LED spotlights that give a special atmosphere to the hotel terrace. These spotlights can project 12 different colors, with which 9 automatic sequences of color changes can be programmed (fast flashes, slow changes of warm colors, etc.). In addition to these 9 sequences, the color of the spotlights can be fixed to any of the 12 possible colors, leaving the pool illuminated with a fixed color. The garden pool has a massage area for several bathers consisting of beds with air blowers. Both pools are equipped with automatic chlorine, flocculant and pH dosers to comply with public pool regulations. SWIMMING POOL ADAPTED FOR PEOPLE WITH MENTAL DISABILITIES
Continuing with the line of interesting projects carried out by Reindesa, we want to highlight the therapeutic pool that Reindesa has built in Alella for the center for the profoundly mentally disabled “ Colegi LES HORTENSIES ” which belongs to the “ Fundació Sant Francesc d’Asis ” presided over by Mosen Jaume Aran i Suriol with whom Reindesa has worked on several occasions. The project consists of a therapeutic swimming pool, in which the residents of the school will receive therapy, massages, or simply spend a pleasant time enjoying the facilities in the company of classmates and caregivers. The pool measures 13×4 and inside it has an air-water hydromassage bench and an air-air bubble effect hydromassage. Due to the type of user of this facility, Reindesa has taken special care in the design and construction of the pool, avoiding protrusions or angles and carrying out the work with the safest materials. A ramp and handrail have been installed to provide access to the pool, allowing entry for users with reduced mobility and even wheelchair users. We have taken special care in cleaning and disinfecting the water, far exceeding the necessary controls according to public pool regulations. The pool has a “Vigilant” system that constantly analyzes water parameters and automatically adds disinfectant. The pool is disinfected using bromine. Both the air in the lounge and the pool water have been climate-controlled by Reindesa, so the facilities can be enjoyed year-round. A heat pump has been installed that can raise the pool water temperature to 32 degrees Celsius and dehumidify and heat the surrounding air to the desired temperature. As part of the project, a motorized roof has been installed that allows the automatic opening of the enclosure’s roof to enjoy direct sunlight in summer, thus turning the indoor pool into an outdoor pool. The opening last December was attended by local authorities, residents’ parents, caregivers and of course us, proud of the work done and hoping that all users will enjoy this new facility.
